The Curiosity Case and TCC TV

Last updated: 12 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions explain how The Curiosity Case services operate, including TCC TV, TCC TV at Home, the TCC TV Members App and our face-to-face reminiscence sessions.

By registering for or using our services, you agree to the terms applicable to your chosen service and subscription. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not proceed with registration.

Who We Are

The Curiosity Case is operated by Clare Greenwood, trading as The Curiosity Case.

Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Curiosity Case. “You” and “your” refer to the person or organisation purchasing or using our services.

Contact: info@thecuriositycase.co.uk

Our services include:

  • TCC TV, an online reminiscence video subscription primarily for care homes and similar organisations.
  • TCC TV at Home, an online reminiscence video subscription for private individuals and families supporting older people at home.
  • The TCC TV Members App, which provides access to TCC TV content on compatible devices.
  • Face-to-face reminiscence sessions, subject to availability and separate arrangements.

TCC TV: What Your Subscription Include

TCC TV provides access to themed reminiscence videos designed to encourage conversation, shared memories and enjoyable activities.

Content includes nostalgic themes, stories, facts, images, music and other material relating to familiar experiences and subjects from the past.

The online selection comprises two themed videos at a time, with the selection updated monthly as new content is introduced and older content is rotated out.

Supporting downloadable activity materials are provided with the care-home subscription to help activity coordinators make the most of the content.

The content available to you depends on your subscription type. Please refer to the relevant subscription page for details of what is included.

Videos are provided for streaming. We do not guarantee that every video or supporting resource will remain available indefinitely.

The TCC TV Members App and Website Access

The TCC TV Members App is designed to provide subscribers with a straightforward way to access their videos.

Where the app is available for your device, you may access TCC TV through the app using the appropriate login details. Website access may also be available as an alternative.

The app and website require a compatible device and an internet connection. Compatibility, performance and availability may depend on your device, operating system, internet connection and third-party services.

You are responsible for ensuring that your equipment and internet connection are suitable for accessing the service.

We may update the app, website, software and content from time to time to maintain, improve or support the service.

App availability and features may vary between devices and operating systems. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every device or Smart TV.

Where access depends on third-party platforms, app stores, device manufacturers or internet providers, their own terms and conditions may also apply.

Subscription Types and Permitted Use

We offer different subscription options for different audiences.

Care-home subscription

The care-home subscription is intended for use within the care home or establishment covered by the subscription.

It may be used by the establishment’s staff and residents for activities and reminiscence sessions within that establishment.

A subscription for one establishment does not automatically authorise use across other care homes, branches or separate establishments.

If you wish to use TCC TV across multiple establishments, please contact us to discuss the appropriate arrangements.

TCC TV at Home

TCC TV at Home is intended for private individuals and families or carers supporting an older person at home.

It is licensed for personal, non-commercial use within the intended household setting. It must not be used to provide a commercial service or distributed to a wider organisation or group without our permission.

The individual subscription is limited to a single login at any one time. Login details must not be shared in a way that allows unauthorised access or use outside the permitted subscription.

Family members or carers may help a subscriber access the service and enjoy the videos together, provided that the subscription’s permitted use and access restrictions are respected.

Other organisations

Home-care providers and other organisations may recommend TCC TV at Home to the families they support.

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, the individual or family subscribes directly. A recommendation does not give the organisation a licence to use the content across its business or provide access to multiple clients.

Community groups and other organisations wishing to use TCC TV should contact us to discuss suitable licensing arrangements.

Subscription Prices, Trials and Payments

Current subscription options

The current standard subscription prices are:

  • Care-home subscription: £15 per month, including a seven-day free trial.
  •
  • TCC TV at Home: £5 per month, with no free trial.

The applicable price, billing frequency and any additional terms will be displayed during registration or agreed with you before a subscription is confirmed.

If we offer other subscription plans, including annual subscriptions, the applicable price and conditions will be communicated before you commit to that plan.

Prices may be changed for future billing periods, subject to applicable law and any notice required under these terms.

Free trial

The seven-day free trial applies to the care-home subscription only, subject to the terms displayed during registration.

The trial period begins when the subscription is activated. At the end of the trial, the subscription will convert to a paid subscription unless it is cancelled in accordance with the instructions provided during registration.

The applicable paid subscription price and billing arrangements will be made clear before you register.

To avoid a charge, you should cancel before the trial expires in accordance with the cancellation instructions provided.

TCC TV at Home does not include a free trial.

Payment methods

Payment methods may include card payments, Google Pay, direct debit or invoicing, depending on the options available during registration and any arrangements agreed with us.

Not every payment method will necessarily be available for every subscription.

Subscriptions are charged in advance at the agreed billing frequency unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

You are responsible for ensuring that your payment details remain valid and that payments can be collected when due.

Automatic renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.

By subscribing, you authorise the agreed recurring payments in accordance with the payment method and subscription terms presented during registration.

If a payment fails, we may contact you to arrange payment or update your payment details. We may suspend access while an outstanding payment remains unpaid, subject to applicable law.

Invoiced subscriptions

Where we have agreed to invoice an organisation, the invoice will specify the amount due and the applicable payment terms.

The organisation is responsible for paying invoices by the agreed due date.

Cancellation, Refunds and Consumer Rights

Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your subscription in accordance with the cancellation instructions provided when you register or by contacting us at info@thecuriositycase.co.uk.

Cancellation stops future renewals in accordance with the applicable subscription terms.

Unless we state otherwise or applicable law requires a different arrangement, you may continue to access the service until the end of the period you have paid for.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund for a period already paid for.

Care homes paying on invoice may only cancel once all issued invoices have been cleared.

Free-trial cancellation

If you do not wish to continue after the seven-day care-home free trial, you should cancel before the trial expires, following the instructions provided during registration.

If the subscription is not cancelled in time, the paid subscription will begin in accordance with the trial terms presented when you signed up.

Refunds

We do not normally provide refunds for a subscription period that has already started or for content that has already been made available to you.

However, this policy does not remove or restrict any rights you may have under applicable law.

Where a service has not been provided as agreed, where digital content is faulty, or where a refund or other remedy is required by law, we will consider the circumstances and provide the remedy to which you are legally entitled.

Consumer cancellation rights

If you subscribe as a consumer online or through another distance-selling method, you may have statutory rights to cancel within a cooling-off period.

The applicable rights and any exceptions depend on the nature of the contract and the circumstances of your purchase.

Where digital content is supplied during a statutory cancellation period, we will obtain any consent or acknowledgement required by law before beginning supply where that is necessary.

Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or restrict your statutory consumer rights.

Licence, Intellectual Property and Fair Use

All intellectual property rights in TCC TV, the Members App, our videos, supporting resources, branding, presentation materials and other content remain with The Curiosity Case or the relevant third-party rights holders.

Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the content for the purposes allowed by your subscription.

You must not, unless we have expressly authorised it in writing or the law permits it:

  • Copy, download, record or reproduce our videos or other protected content.
  • Upload, publish, broadcast, sell, rent or redistribute our content.
  • Share login details or provide unauthorised access to other people or organisations.
  • Use the content outside the establishment or household covered by your subscription.
  • Remove copyright notices or other ownership information.
  • Modify, adapt or create derivative works from our content.
  • Use our content for commercial purposes beyond the licence granted to you.

Any supporting materials provided to care homes for download may be used for the activities covered by your subscription. They must not be resold, redistributed or made publicly available without our permission.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted under these terms.

Music and Third-Party Content

Our videos may include music, archive material, photographs, film clips and other third-party content.

We take appropriate steps to use such material in accordance with the applicable permissions and licences.

Your subscription does not give you a separate licence to extract, reuse or distribute any third-party material contained in our videos.

You must not add or overlay unlicensed music or other material to our videos or otherwise use them in a way that infringes intellectual property rights.

Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when registering for a subscription.
  • Keep your login details secure.
  • Use the service only for the purposes permitted by your subscription.
  • Ensure that your equipment and internet connection are suitable for accessing the content.
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of The Curiosity Case and third-party rights holders.
  • Use the content appropriately and sensitively with residents, relatives and other participants.

Where you use TCC TV in a care-home or other organisational setting, you remain responsible for supervising activities appropriately and taking account of participants’ individual needs and circumstances.

Reminiscence, Dementia and Health Disclaimer

Our content is designed for entertainment, reminiscence and activity purposes.

It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or a substitute for professional healthcare, therapeutic services or individual care planning.

Although our content is intended to encourage engagement, conversation and shared enjoyment, we cannot guarantee a particular response or outcome for any individual.

Historical content may include generalisations, simplified explanations or material reflecting the language and perspectives of the period being discussed. We aim to present content responsibly and accurately, but cannot guarantee that every detail will be free from error.

If you have concerns about whether a particular activity is suitable for an individual, please use your judgement and seek appropriate professional advice where necessary.

Service Availability and Technical Issues

We aim to provide a reliable service, but continuous or uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.

Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, updates, technical faults, internet connectivity, device compatibility, app-store availability or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We are not responsible for failures caused by your internet service, equipment or third-party systems, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

We will endeavour to address problems affecting our own service within a reasonable time.

We may update, replace or withdraw individual videos, themes, supporting materials or features as part of the normal operation of the service.

Where a significant change affects a subscription, we will endeavour to give reasonable notice where appropriate and comply with any applicable legal obligations.

Suspension, Termination and Withdrawal of Service

We may suspend or terminate access to a subscription if you materially breach these terms, misuse the service, provide unauthorised access to the content or fail to pay amounts due.

Where appropriate, we will explain the reason for suspension or termination and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before taking further action.

We may discontinue TCC TV, the Members App or another part of our service if necessary. Where we decide to withdraw a service, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice and deal fairly with any prepaid subscription periods, in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies you may have under applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and will comply with any other obligations imposed on us by applicable law.

We are not responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.

To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Where you subscribe as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Where you subscribe on behalf of a business or organisation, our liability will be assessed in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the contract. Any agreed limitation of liability must be fair, reasonable and legally enforceable.

Privacy and Data Protection

We process personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it and what rights you have in relation to your personal information.

Please read our Privacy Policy alongside these Terms & Conditions.

You can contact us at info@thecuriositycase.co.uk if you have questions about the handling of your personal information.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, subscription arrangements, technology or legal obligations.

The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.

Where a change materially affects an existing subscription, we will provide notice where appropriate and comply with any applicable legal requirements.

If you do not agree with a material change, you may have the right to cancel your subscription in accordance with the applicable terms and law.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.

Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales where they have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
